Education and training are available to help caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia increase their skills and wellness. We offer online training as well as in-person classes and workshops in Upstate New York, including Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Hamilton, Warren, and Washington counties.

Get the Help You Need to Be a Dementia Caregiver

Our team at the Center for Neurobehavioral Health’s Alzheimer’s Disease Caregiver Support Initiative offers training and education services on topics of dementia caregiving for both at-home caregivers and professional health care providers.

Whether you live in Plattsburgh NY, Lake Placid NY, Tupper Lake NY, Long Lake NY, or even Granville NY, we’re here to help. Our services include free online dementia training as well as in-person dementia caregiver classes and Alzheimer’s disease education workshops.

Caregiver education and training are available and provide the necessary knowledge and information to enable caregivers to navigate through the progression of dementia. The current topics may include, but are not limited to:

  • Dementia and its progression
  • Behavior management strategies and interventions
  • Coping skills
  • Resource availability and caregiver wellness

Sometimes you may feel that you don’t know how to care for your loved one who has Alzheimer’s disease or another form of dementia. You are not alone. Each day may bring different challenges. Learning about Alzheimer’s disease and dementia can help you understand and cope with these challenges. A variety of in-person and/or virtual caregiver education and training programs are available throughout the Upstate New York region.
